GOOD WOOD TOYS

A little board for active play and balance challenges

Bring movement into playtime with the GOOD WOOD Balance Board / Trick Board for Kids. This compact wooden board invites children to explore balance, shift their weight and practise controlled movements through play.

Turn a movement break into a playful challenge: find your balance, notice how the board responds and try again at your own pace. Its small size makes it a practical addition to a home play area or sensory activity space.

Explore balance and body awareness

Balancing activities give children opportunities to practise coordination and notice how changes in body position affect movement. Introduce the board gradually and adapt activities to the child's confidence, abilities and sensory preferences.

Compact plywood construction

Made from 18 mm thick plywood, the board measures 49 × 20 cm and weighs 1.2 kg. Its compact format is easy to move between activities and store when playtime is over.

Choosing activities for your child

This board is intended for children who are ready to explore balance challenges and understand their own movement capabilities. Choose activities according to the individual child rather than height alone.

Space and supervised use

The board's compact size suits smaller play spaces, but always leave enough clear space around it for movement and stepping off. Use on a suitable, level surface with adult supervision, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Two sides of sensory discovery

Bring movement and hands-on exploration together with the GOOD WOOD Sensory Platform Swing & Tracing Board. One side offers a platform for swinging and balancing; the reverse features carved shapes for finger tracing and creative activities.

Imagine a flying-carpet adventure during supervised movement play, then explore the carved patterns with a finger or brush. This two-sided design offers different ways to play in a bedroom, nursery or sensory room.

Swing, balance and explore movement

The suspended platform invites children to practise balance and coordination as they notice how their body position affects movement. Introduce swinging gradually and adapt the pace to the child's abilities, comfort and sensory preferences.

Turn over for tactile tracing

The reverse-side graphomotor board features carved shapes to follow with fingers or a brush. Tracing the patterns offers opportunities to practise controlled hand movements and explore shapes through touch as part of pre-writing play.

Turn the activity into an imaginative discovery game: follow a trail, describe a shape or pretend to uncover a hidden symbol. Let children explore at their own pace.

Little hands, colourful threads and creative discovery

Make threading and lacing a playful adventure with the GOOD WOOD Threading & Lacing Board. Its large holes invite children to guide colourful threads through the board, exploring patterns and practising precise hand movements at their own pace.

Settle down for a quiet activity together, create a new lacing pattern or practise a simple loop. Each session offers a hands-on way to explore, experiment and enjoy the satisfaction of making something.

Practise fine motor skills through play

Passing a thread through a hole gives children opportunities to practise hand-eye coordination, finger control and using both hands together. These movements form part of the everyday skills used in drawing, writing and dressing.

Explore lacing, loops and bows

Use the board to introduce threading, interlacing and the movements involved in tying shoelaces. Begin with a simple route through the holes, then explore more involved patterns, loops or bows as confidence grows.

A tactile activity with room for imagination

Following the thread in and out of the board combines touch, movement and visual exploration. Encourage children to choose a route, describe their pattern or invent a story inspired by their creation. Adapt the activity to the individual child's interests and abilities.

Supervised play

Use with adult supervision and follow the manufacturer's age and safety guidance. Keep lacing cords away from the neck and check the board and threads before use.

Rock, imagine and discover through movement

Set sail on a pretend voyage or explore a gentle rocking rhythm with the Wooden Montessori Sensory Rocker. Its curved design invites children to combine movement and imagination, making it a versatile addition to a home play area or sensory space.

From a make-believe spaceship to a quiet movement break, children can bring their own ideas to play while practising balance and coordination at their own pace.

Rocking and vestibular exploration

The back-and-forth movement offers vestibular input, engaging the sense of movement and balance. Some children enjoy a slow, gentle rhythm, while others prefer a different pace. Introduce rocking gradually and follow the child's comfort and individual sensory preferences.

Multisensory, open-ended play

Combining touch, visual exploration and movement, the rocker offers opportunities for multisensory play. Encourage children to notice how shifting their body position changes the rocking motion, or turn the activity into a shared story.

More possibilities with compatible modules

Compatible GOOD WOOD add-on modules can extend the rocker into other play arrangements, including climbing, table and balance-beam activities. These require the appropriate additional modules and must be set up according to the manufacturer's instructions. Add-on modules are not listed as included with this rocker.

Follow the patterns, explore through touch

Bring hands-on discovery to pre-writing play with the GOOD WOOD Fine Motor Wooden Tracing Board Set. Three double-sided boards offer six engraved patterns to explore with a fingertip, the included wooden stylus or the brush.

Set out a board for a quiet activity together. Follow the grooves, notice each change of direction and enjoy tracing a pattern from beginning to end, without the pressure of putting pencil to paper.

Fine motor practice through tactile play

Tracing the engraved patterns gives children opportunities to practise controlled hand and finger movements, hand-eye coordination and following a visual path. Explore the grooves by touch first, then introduce the stylus or brush as confidence grows.

Use the activities to introduce left-to-right movement and the kinds of lines and shapes children encounter in early writing.

Choose Toddler or Junior patterns

• Toddler: simpler patterns designed for children aged 3–4 years.
• Junior: more challenging patterns designed for children aged 4 years and over.

Choose the version that suits the child's current abilities and interests, and let them explore at their own pace.

More ways to explore

Follow a groove with the brush, describe the route aloud or press play dough into the engraved shapes to explore their form in a different way. These open-ended activities combine touch, movement and creativity.

A multisensory adventure with every step

Create a trail of textures with this five-panel Multisensory Wooden Sensory Path. Combining rope, smooth wooden inserts and a panel with holes for adding suitable balls, the set invites children to explore touch, movement and visual patterns through play.

Arrange the panels into a path or supervised obstacle course, then pause along the way to discover how each surface feels. Change the layout to introduce a new route, share ideas and turn everyday movement into an imaginative adventure.

Tactile discovery through hands and feet

Explore the contrast between smooth wood and ropes with different patterns and thicknesses. Begin by feeling the panels with hands, then introduce supervised barefoot exploration at a pace that feels comfortable for the user.

The panel with holes can be used with suitable rubber, anti-stress or tennis balls to introduce another texture. Balls are not listed among the set contents.

Balance and vestibular exploration

Stepping between panels, shifting body weight and changing direction offer opportunities to explore balance and movement, bringing vestibular context into multisensory play. Children can practise planning their next step and noticing their body position as they move.

Keep activities appropriate to each user's abilities and sensory preferences. Start with a simple floor-level route and offer support where needed.

Five panels to arrange and explore

• One panel with holes for suitable balls.
• Two panels with smooth raised wooden inserts.
• Two rope panels with different rope patterns and thicknesses.

Each panel has underside stabilisers designed to help position it on the GOOD WOOD ladder and provide its height. The path can be used separately or with a compatible GOOD WOOD ladder, following the manufacturer's setup instructions. A ladder is not included in the listed set contents.
